Take-Home Pay Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
The Take-Home Pay browser extension is designed to be private. This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with information.
Summary
The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. It makes no network requests and has no backend servers. Everything happens locally in your browser.
What the extension accesses
To show after-tax take-home pay next to salaries, the extension reads the salary and location text already displayed on pages you visit on these supported job sites: Indeed (indeed.com), LinkedIn (linkedin.com/jobs), Glassdoor (glassdoor.com), and ZipRecruiter (ziprecruiter.com).
This reading happens entirely on your device, in real time, only to compute and display the estimate. The text is not recorded, logged, or sent anywhere.
What the extension stores
The extension saves only your own settingsusing your browser's local extension storage: filing status (single or married), hours per week, and state preference (auto by job location, a fixed state, or none). This data stays on your device, is used only to compute the on-page estimates, and is never transmitted. Removing the extension deletes it.
What the extension does NOT do
- No analytics or telemetry
- No tracking of your browsing, searches, clicks, or activity
- No cookies or advertising identifiers
- No remote code execution; all code ships inside the extension package
- No transmission of any data to us or to third parties
- No sale of data
Permissions
The extension requests access only to the four supported job-site domains and to local storage, solely for the functionality described above.
